I'm Chelsea Szabo.

By the time I was twenty, I had battled death three times: melanoma, hodgkin's lymphoma, and a serious automobile accident.

These experiences gave me a sense of urgency to embrace life to the fullest.

And that's just what I did.

After graduating with a B.S. in Marketing from West Chester University of Pennsylvania—I went after what I wanted.

I moved to Los Angeles and quickly jumped into the local advertising scene and immersed myself in a variety of professional and philanthropic opportunities.

After dedicating over a decade to that career path (which included five years at The Walt Disney Company and two years on thinkLA’s Board of Directors), I was ready for change.

As with many externally successful and driven women, I realized my career had evolved away from my deepest passions, into a high-paying experience that didn't fulfill me.

This was a confusing time. I found it excruciating to verbalize what I was feeling (because to an outsider my life looked perfect). In addition, I didn't know what I really wanted. I just knew I wanted more. More joy, more ease, and more authenticity.

Then I found coaching...

And I went back to school to become a Certified Professional Life Coach.

My journey as a coach has taught me there is no more powerful tool for true transformation than our voice.

As I molded my career and built my new professional life, I had to get very clear about the decisions I was making and verbalize them to myself, loved ones, and colleagues over and over (even when my dreams sounded crazy to others).

And that's how Verbal Courage was born.

I believe meaningful and intentional change begins with a confident voice.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my clients learn to trust their intuition and successfully initiate the most difficult conversations to keep themselves on track to get what they truly want in life.
